Private medical insurance.
t probably hasn't escaped to your attention that health and the delivery of healthcare has taken up a substantial part of the news over the last 3 to 4 years.
As a result private medical insurance is very much on the rise and in demand.
We have found in the past that there are two big resistance points to considering private health insurance.
- Why would I need it when the NHS is there for me? Well hopefully the BBC, Sky News, the newspapers and the rest of the press will have answered this question
We are probably all huge fans of the NHS but at the end of the day they are under the cosh, and unless you are ambulanced into a hospital. You are likely to have a very long wait.
- Cost. We reckon a good comprehensive private healthcare plan to be approximately £1.20 times your age per month so if you are 40 it’s lightly to be about £48, depending on the options you choose and the postcode you live in. We believe this compares very favourably to pet insurance where we often find people are paying in excess of £40 a month and that is limited to £10,000 worth of claims in a year, where private medical insurance is unlimited.
